Firmware Supervisor cannot find firmware file
If you are setting up firmware supervisor and the firmware is not found you can manually add the firmware to be moved to the SD card.
If you have followed the above steps to enable firmware supervisor and you are getting the error message "Firmware Update Files not found on workstation or controller" then you will need to follow these additional steps.
1. Close Logix Designer (This is a critical step. Logix Designer will not update if it is open)
2. Go to the PCDC (Product Compatibility and Download Center)
3. Utilize the search tool to find the specific device for which you are trying to enable the firmware supervisor feature.
4. Select the device and then click "Download"
5. Expand the menu and select the firmware revision you wish to use.
6. Make note of the compatible Logix Designer versions and be sure that you are using a compatible version of device firmware.
7. Click the download shopping cart at the top right of the screen.
8. Then click "Download Now"
9. Read the Software End-User License Agreement then click "Accept and Download" if you accept.
10. This will begin a "managed download". You will need to save the .exe file on you computer and then run it to begin the download.
11. after you run the .exe the download will begin automatically using the download manager.
12. When the download is complete, take note of the file location. Then click "Close".
13. Now go to your start menu and type in DMK Extraction Tool
14. Run the tool and browse to the file location where the download manager placed the firmware.
15. Select the firmware file the select "Extract"
16. When the extraction is complete you can close the extraction tool.
17. You may delete the .dmk file if desired and reopen your Logix Designer file and repeat the original standard procedure to enable firmware supervisor.
