When controlling vertical loads with a Kinetix servo drive it is important to configure the stopping type and related parameters to correct values based on the requirements of a given application. 

Understanding the Stop Categories and the configurable stopping types is critical for selecting the best configuration. It is also important to have a firm understanding of how the vertical load in question is controlled and mechanically connected to the servo system. 

Always use the safest possible stopping methods and base configurations on the appropriate safety standards and best practices.

Stopping Categories:
