What is the purpose of the open order reports?
As we all work through supply chain issues and the longer lead times that frequently arise, ES&E has been continuously working to reduce or eliminate the impact of extended lead times.
ES&E has been continuously working to reduce or eliminate the impact of extended lead times by increasing our inventories, expediting, and sourcing alternative items.
However, when extended lead times can’t be avoided, we realize that being able to plan to utilize the most accurate data is critical. Many of our major manufacturers have recently made improvements to the quality and sophistication of the electronic tools they use to calculate and update expected shipment dates.
ES&E has also been preparing to capture the improved forecasting data to provide you with an accurate tool for planning. Our new subscription-based reports compile the nightly data we receive from our larger manufacturers, as well as the dates captured by our expediting team for those manufacturers not sending us automatic updates.
Although we are seeing improvements and stabilization of the shipment forecasts, all of our manufacturers are continuing to experience fluctuations in raw materials, which is directly linked to the expected delivery dates that we are provided. With this being said, ES&E has created 3 different open-order reports to help show a summary of orders by different line items.
There are 3 reports available now that customers may enroll in.
1. Line Item Summary: Summary of Open Orders by Line Item with Expected Factory Ship Dates
2. Line Item Detail: Summary of Open Orders by Line Item with Expected Factory Ship Dates and Quantity
3. Order Summary: Summary of Open Orders with Expected Factory Ship Dates
