Course Purpose

Upon completing this course, you will be able to assess an existing network, connect with equipment and make generic configuration changes. You will have the opportunity to develop and practice these skills by: 

 

  • Learning basic concepts and terminology used with:
    • Stratix and Cisco X system hardware 
    • Integrated Architecture Builder 
  • Practicing a systematic strategy for diagnosing and troubleshooting problems: 
    • Configuration issues 
    • Connectivity issues
  • Configure a switch using device manager web interface:
    • Smart ports 
    • NAT 
    • VLANs
    • DHCP persistence
  • Performing hands-on exercises  

Who Should Attend

Technicians and engineers who must deploy and maintain Industrial Automation and Control System (IACS) networks should attend this course. 

 

Prerequisites

To successfully complete this course, the following prerequisites are required: 

  • Ability to perform basic Microsoft Windows tasks

Technology Requirements

All technology is provided for student use in the classroom by Rockwell Automation. It is not necessary for students to bring any technology with them when attending this course.

 

Additional students can bring their own laptop with a updated browser (Chrome, Firefox, or Edge) 


Hands-On Practice

Throughout this course, you will be able to practice the skills you have learned through various hands-on exercises. Exercises focus on the skills introduced in each lesson and are performed on an EtherNet/IP workstation.
