The Allen-Bradley PLC-5 Control System boasts one of the largest installed bases in the world of control platforms. However, as spare parts, repairs, and skilled engineers become increasingly difficult to come by, ES&E is here to help you migrate and take full advantage of the latest features and capabilities in the ControlLogix controller platform. Whether you prefer the DIY approach or a turnkey migration solution, we can assist you every step of the way with your PLC-5 migration.
Migration Solutions for your SLC 500, MicroLogix or PLC5 PLC installations
Hardware migration solutions makes it easy and fast to modernize your existing SLC 500, or PLC5 installations.
When moving to a new PLC platform, each module requires at least 30 minutes to an hour to move the wiring to the new module. Multiply the time required to re-wire a single module by the number of modules in your installation. It could take days, not hours to modernize a single installation. I/O conversion modules provide a fast and efficient method for converting from legacy I/O to contemporary I/O. The I/O conversion is accomplished without removing any field wires from the existing SLC or PLC5 swing arms.

The Logix Designer Export tool converts your RSLogix 5 or 500 project into a Studio 5000 Logix Designer application. This tool is built into the latest versions of RSLogix 5 and 500 and can be accessed simply by saving your legacy project as an .ACD file format. Once you finish completing the migration wizard you are only steps away from converting your application. See the reference guides for guidance on program migrations. Note: Documentation may reference a stand-alone Migration tool. This tool an older less functional utility than the Logix Designer Export tool built into RSLogix 5 and 500.
