ST-SEN-01 - Training for Sensor Application and Setup Basics
Agenda
- Device level basics
- Understand the full capabilities of a sensor
- What a sensor can do
- How a sensor can help your machines
- Sensor wiring
- How different sensors can solve the same application
- Prox sensor switching frequency
- Hall effect sensors
- Advantages and disadvantages of sensors
Course Purpose
Gain a comprehensive understanding of sensors, including their types, sensing modes, and real-world applications. Learn about sensor setup, key parameters, and the principles behind how various sensors operate. Explore the differences between PNP and NPN configurations, get introduced to Smart Sensors, and discover the fundamentals of IO-Link technology.
All Logix5000 systems use the same control engine; therefore, tasks are similar. You will see applicable references for other systems.
Who Should Attend
This course is intended for engineers, maintenance staff, technicians, and entry-level employees new to the company.
Prerequisites
To successfully complete this course, the following prerequisites are required:
- ST-PLC-02 or some experience with Studio 5000s
Technology Requirements
All technology is provided for student use in the classroom by Rockwell Automation. It is not necessary for students to bring any technology with them when attending this course.
Hands-On Practice
Throughout this course, you will have the opportunity to practice the skills you have learned through a variety of hands-on exercises:
- Sensors labs
- Programming sensor
- Light vs dark operate
- PNP vs NPN
Course Length
This is a four-hour course.
